The
Purpleleaf Plum is sometimes referred to as the
"poor man's Japanese maple' because of it's
reddish-purple foliage. It produces masses of
wonderful pink blooms in spring and also produces
small edible fruits for wildlife. Can be used
as a small shade tree or as additional summer
color in a garden or against a light-colored wall.
We plant this tree as an accent in sunny islands
or beds. Fast growing and quite drought tolerant. |
