The
viburnum family has many excellent plants. Most
viburnums in cultivation have very attractive
foliage and produce pretty blooms. The list of
outstanding flowering viburnums is long but, unfortunately,
there aren't too many cultivars readily available
in our area that we can confidently incorporate
into landscape plans. There are a few though and
we will mention them here.
'Chinese
Snowball' is a superb shrub or small tree that
produces an amazing abundance of large, round
snowball-shape flowers in late spring.
'Conoy'
is an evergreen selection that produces masses
of white blooms in spring that cover the attractive
dark green mound of foliage.
'Snowflake'
produces an abundance of white flowers in May
and then again once a month all the way through
October! |
