Height:   4'
Width:   4-5'
Exposure:   Sun or Part Shade. Roses planted in the south actually benefit from a little afternoon shade. Morning sun is a must.
Water:   Exceptionally drought tolerant once established.
Hardiness:   USDA Zones 5-9?
Pruning:   We prune the KnockOut roses once per year in mid February cutting them back to about 18" from the ground.

The Knock Out Rose is the most disease-free, low maintenance shrub rose we have ever seen! We planted the first Knock Out in our trial garden in 2002 and since then the foliage has shown itself to be virtually disease free. We have yet to spray them.

Masses of cherry-red flowers are produced from April to November on this mounding shrub rose.

What makes the story even better about this amazing rose is that several others colors have been introduced to the market:

'KnockOut Pink' produces an abundance of single pink flowers throught the season.

'KnockOut Blush' produces an abundance of light pink flowers throughout the season.

'KnockOut Double' is just like the original but with double blooms.

'KnockOut Rainbow', the most recent introduction, produces more flowers than any of the others in a range of color from apricot, pink and coral to white!

Most often, we group these knock outs in beds and islands where they will provide splashes of color in the landscape throughout the season. This is the only rose we don't hesitate use use as a color accent in foundation plantings. They also perform well in containers.
